If you feel your experience and interests align with the following, and you're passionate about the space we're in and the athletes we serve, feel free to leave your résumé with us here.

Role Overview

The Performance Technician is a part‐time, hands‑on role responsible for the administration of performance testing batteries within our sports science facility. This position supports a critical tier of our holistic human performance assessment, producing key metrics used by our medical and performance teams.

As the in‑person representative of our organization, the Performance Technician plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional member experience. The role involves direct engagement with elite and avid athletes, guiding them through sport‑specific performance tests in a way that is clear, engaging, and aligned with their goals. We’re looking for someone with high energy and enthusiasm—someone who can keep members engaged, motivated, and excited throughout the full assessment experience.

This position is based in New York City.

Responsibilities
  • Administer the sports‑specific testing batteries for members, including tests specific to mobility, motor control, strength, power, and aerobic capacity.
  • Learn and perfect the standard operating procedures of the test batteries (setup, directions, cues), ensuring the overall testing experience is seamless and repeatable.
  • Efficiently and accurately organize all data and results into the internal athlete management system.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with the medical and performance team, to ensure the athlete’s performance (both quantitative and qualitative) is fully understood.
  • Continually research performance tests, to assist in perfecting the company’s testing batteries from an evidence‑based lens.
  • Create an unforgettable testing experience for each member (motivating, novel, engaging, meaningful, revealing), leaving them hungry and eager to return for future reassessments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Kinesiology/Exercise Science, or similar.
  • Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Clinical Exercise Physiologist, or similar.
  • 2+ years experience as a Sports Scientist, Sports Performance Coach, or Personal Trainer, using data to drive clinical/performance decision‑making.
  • 2+ years experience in a customer relationship role.
  • Natural leader: unique ability to open doors in the potential of others, guiding them and supporting them toward their best.
  • Adaptable conversationalist: highly sociable, with an organic ability to form quick relationships; can read a member’s personality type quickly and adapt conversation style and tone accordingly.
  • Consistent bringer of energy: contagious enthusiasm that motivates members to engage and participate to the top of their abilities; consistently creates a lively environment.
  • Detail oriented: incredibly organized and attentive to detail, meticulous in assessment setup, flow, delivery, and data collection; thrives in a repeatable system mentality.
  • Confident salesperson: can comfortably explain the “why” of granular tests and holistic health, in a way that is individualized and sports‑specific.
  • Health and performance obsessed: walks the talk of our members; active to the point of obsession, dialed and focused on personal holistic health principles (nutrition, sleep, mental health), believes and practices the necessity of taking proactive steps to improving life‑long athleticism.
  • Personal experience as an avid athlete or endurance sport competitor (specifically running or cycling).
  • Familiarity with DEXA body‑composition analysis.
