Job summary

Auburn Athletics at Auburn University seeks a Performance Physical Therapist to provide integrated rehabilitation services for intercollegiate student-athletes under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy Services and Athletic Rehabilitation.

The role focuses on rehabilitation of all student-athletes, collaboration with team physicians and athletic staff, and ongoing development of best practices in sports medicine. Travel and variable hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
• 1 year of experience in coordination/management of rehabilitation and/or physical therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Oversees rehabilitation of and provides physical therapy for all student-athletes while providing direct services for assigned teams.
• Communicates and collaborates with team physicians, athletic trainers, dietitians, mental health professionals, strength and conditioning staff, other medical specialists, and coaches to optimize health, performance, and recovery outcomes.
• Maintains and organizes student-athlete medical records.
• Evaluates medical readiness using return-to-play assessments and participates in clearance decisions.
• Collaborates with sports science on objective tracking and analysis of injured student-athletes.
• Develops and evaluates best practices, protocols, and procedures related to rehabilitation services.
• Attends practices, workouts, and competitions; performs related administrative functions.
