Job summary

BlackCube Labs in NYC is seeking a Performance & Load Test Automation Engineer to own the performance testing lifecycle, building automated scripts and executing load tests to ensure scalable systems. You will analyze results, report bottlenecks, and collaborate with developers to drive improvements.

The role demands strong automation, LoadRunner/JMeter experience, and solid SQL/backend testing. You will work in an Agile environment with 2-3 days in the office per week.

Qualifications

• Must have strong automation testing experience and ability to establish performance testing environments.
• Experience with workload modeling, bottleneck analysis, and performance reporting.
• Strong SQL and backend testing skills; testing APIs, integrations, databases, and files.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the performance testing environment and develop/execute performance scripts.
• Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations to improve scalability and stability.
• Support test planning, execution, defect management, and release validation across projects.

Job description

Position: Performance & Load Test Automation Engineer

Location: NYC

Duration: 6+ month

Key Skills Required

• Strong automation testing experience.
• Manual testing experience
• LoadRunner, JMeter
• Performance engineering, workload modelling, monitoring tools, environment setup, capacity planning, bottleneck analysis, reporting
• Strong SQL and backend testing skills.
• Experience with API, integration, database, and file testing
• Experience working in Agile environments
• ISTQB Certification (Foundation Level minimum) preferred; Advanced ISTQB certifications are a plus

Healthcare Knowledge (details below)

• Preferred and great to have; not mandatory
• Candidates with healthcare payer experience (particularly exposure to Facets, HRP, member, provider, enrollment, and integration testing) will be given preference

Additional details

• Given our direction toward Quality Engineering, should have the ability to establish and maintain the performance testing environment, develop and execute performance test scripts, analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations to improve application scalability and stability.
• Ability to support test planning, test execution, defect management, and release validation activities.
• Automation skills are mandatory; manual testing is one of many responsibilities.
• Certifications are nice to have for their demonstrated skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willing to work from the office 2-3 days a week
