Role Purpose

The Performance Excellence Engineer is responsible for driving manufacturing performance through Industrial Engineering, Performance Excellence, and engineering project management. This role focuses on improving productivity, throughput, yield, and cost while supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and developing performance excellence capabilities across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply Industrial Engineering principles to optimize manufacturing processes through engineering time studies, capacity analysis, line balancing, and process improvements.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives using DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Value Stream Design methodologies to improve throughput, yield, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform cost analysis, manage the plant's cost reduction pipeline, and identify process improvement opportunities to achieve Performance Excellence (PEX) savings targets.
  • Support OEE improvement activities by conducting engineering time studies and capacity analysis across manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate structured problem solving using DMAIC, A3, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and support Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams in implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Deliver Performance Excellence training and coach cross-functional teams on Lean, problem-solving, and Performance Excellence methodologies. Support in developing Yellow Belt and Green Belt capabilities across the plant.
  • Lead or support New Product Introduction (NPI) and other engineering projects, working with cross-functional teams to ensure successful and on-time implementation.
  • Build effective working relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization, from shop floor employees to plant leadership.

Work Hours

  • Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm)
  • Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or lean manufacturing.
  • Experience with engineering time studies, problem solving, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping/Design, and NPI project management.

The range for this position is $86,197.00 - $118,521.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
