Polluxa, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager, Performance Engineering to lead teams focused on speed, scalability, and reliability of our web and mobile platforms. You will set performance strategy and guide execution across the stack.

This role values technical depth, thoughtful leadership, and cross-team collaboration, and you will partner with platform, application, and data teams to embed performance into design and production workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering focusing on performance engineering, optimization or reliability.
• 3+ years in technical leadership or engineering management.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and performance characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the performance engineering strategy with multi-quarter roadmaps.
• Lead end-to-end performance architecture across apps, services, infra and cloud.
• Establish performance KPIs, benchmarks, and core web vitals related metrics.
• Guide performance practices for web and mobile, including load, stress and real-user testing.
• Drive frontend and backend performance improvements across APIs, services, databases, caching, networking and code.
• Design tooling for profiling, tracing, telemetry and benchmarking that yield actionable insights.
• Embed performance into development workflows, integrating measurement and regression detection into CI/CD.
• Partner with platform, application and data teams to consider performance early in design decisions.
• Analyze and resolve complex performance issues using data analysis and debugging.
• Lead and develop performance engineering teams with mentorship and collaboration.
