Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is seeking talented Performance Engineers with deep expertise in low-level systems optimization, focusing on C++, Python, and Rust, to advance AI training and inference infrastructure data.

This is a 40-hour full-time W-2 engagement placed at a leading AI Lab, with no conflicts or other engagements. The role involves designing tasks, evaluating performance, and helping generate high-quality training data for frontier AI systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in performance engineering, systems programming, or low-level optimization.
• Deep hands-on expertise in at least one of C++, Python, or Rust with working familiarity across the others.
• Proven track record of performance improvements on production systems.
• Ability to commit to at least 40 hours/week during weekdays.
• Strong written communication skills to explain complex technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Guide research and engineering teams to improve AI model performance in systems-level optimization and runtime topics.
• Design challenging tasks and write accurate, well-structured solutions to performance engineering problems.
• Evaluate tasks and provide clear, written technical feedback.
• Develop guidelines and rubrics to assess systems design quality across AI workloads.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training data accuracy and consistency.
