The kindest thing you can do for a student who achieved 99% is to inform them they fell short. If that statement unsettles you, this isn't the role for you. If it resonates, continue reading.
Alpha students complete their academic learning in two hours daily via self-directed AI-powered applications. No teachers. No lectures. No classroom instruction on subject matter. This structure allows you to focus on what genuinely transforms outcomes: facilitating high-impact workshops on public speaking, concentration, and feedback practices; driving students toward complete goal attainment using live analytics; and developing the Guides who support your work.
A typical morning may begin with coaching a Guide one-on-one, examining performance metrics and pinpointing where a cohort needs intervention. By midday, you're running a structured workshop with students, executing a playbook exercise on feedback exchange. Afternoons transition to motivational work: engaging with individual students, uncovering their internal drivers, and applying Alpha's incentive framework to re-engage a hesitant middle schooler. You manage your own cohort throughout, ensuring you maintain the same capabilities you're coaching others to build.
You've likely felt misaligned in traditional education: excessively metrics-oriented, overly outcome-focused, too comfortable questioning conventional approaches with students. Alpha may be the first environment where you truly belong. You'll begin coaching Guides immediately, and as you produce measurable results consistently, your authority over campus-wide program standards expands.
Uphold excellence. Transform outcomes.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour workshops on essential competencies (public speaking, focus, feedback exchange) for K-8 cohorts, executing Alpha's established playbook with precision rather than creating original content
- Conducting motivation interventions using student data and Alpha's reward infrastructure (campus currency, performance rankings) to achieve 100% goal attainment across your cohort
- Developing Guides on program adherence and standard enforcement, ensuring each coaching interaction generates clear performance improvements
- Managing your own student cohort concurrently with Guide development responsibilities
- Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal completion percentages, and Guide effectiveness data weekly to identify performance gaps before they escalated
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Teaching or providing academic tutoring to students. Academic content is delivered through self-paced applications without adult instruction.
- Creating new curriculum or developing original lesson materials. Established playbooks guide the work; your measure of success is execution fidelity, not creative innovation.
- Coaching Guides on instructional pedagogy. Since Guides don't deliver instruction, you'll develop their capacity for energy management, student motivation, and accountability practices instead.
- Accepting 99% performance when the standard is 100%. Maintaining rigorous expectations demonstrates your confidence in student capability.
- Serving as the campus emotional support figure. Students receive genuine connection alongside direct feedback and meaningful accountability.
Performance Coach Key Responsibilities
Execute Alpha's three core commitments for every student in your cohort: fostering genuine enthusiasm for school, accelerating learning to twice the pace of conventional classrooms, and cultivating meaningful life competencies.
