Job description

Location: Newtown, PA or Houston, TX
Reports to: Senior Director, Engineering and Systems

SkyVest Renewables (“SkyVest”) is a renewable power generation platform backed by ArcLight Capital Partners (“ArcLight”). Through affiliates of ArcLight, SkyVest acquires, operates and optimizes operating utility‑scale wind, solar and BESS assets throughout the U.S., applying value‑added strategies and best‑in‑class operations to maximize asset value. Since its launch in July 2024, SkyVest has emerged as a premier platform for operating renewable assets, growing its asset portfolio to 1,500 MW of wind and solar assets in PJM, ERCOT, CAISO, SPP and MISO. SkyVest is headquartered in Newtown, PA with offices in Houston, TX.

About ArcLight Capital Partners:

ArcLight is a leading private equity firm focused on energy and infrastructure, founded in 2001. With deep sector expertise, ArcLight has invested in more than 65 gigawatts of power generation and over 47,000 miles of transmission and distribution infrastructure, representing approximately $80 billion in total enterprise value. The firm is known for its operationally driven investment approach and maintains a large internal team alongside a network of over 2,000 asset management professionals. ArcLight has a strong track record in renewables and energy transition assets, including solar, battery storage, hydroelectric, and natural gas infrastructure.

About This Position

SkyVest is building out its performance analytics capability to maximize value across a growing 1,500 MW wind, solar, and BESS portfolio. We are seeking a Performance Analytics Manager to own the data infrastructure, reporting, and performance monitoring and analytics that drive asset‑level decision‑making. This role will have the opportunity to build out and lead a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Structure & Systems Management
    • Establish and manage data structures within SkyVest’s central SCADA platform and internal databases as they are built out for both operational and master data sets.
    • Lead data governance, quality, and architecture decisions as our operational data footprint grows, establishing clear direction to enable advanced analytics capabilities.
    • Ensure data flows correctly from source systems; identify and correct errors, and validate that calculated formulas/tags are implemented properly.
    • Manage and organize incoming data streams from service providers (e.g., O&M work order data) into usable, structured formats.
    • Improve ingestion pipelines and expand use cases for operational data across the organization.
  • Reporting & Performance Monitoring
    • Configure the central SCADA platform to execute recurring performance and availability reporting.
    • Monitor fleet performance; identify underperforming assets and diagnose root causes.
    • Translate data into specific, tangible actions for Fleet Engineering, Operations, and Asset Management teams — flagging issues to resolve directly or elevate to service providers.
    • Establish reporting and monitoring of service provider execution (e.g., work order completion, response times) to proactively surface problems.
    • Build dashboards and statistical analyses to communicate performance insights to leadership, and work closely with the Fleet Engineering team to develop and refine analytics capabilities.
    • Support, as required, the management of asset condition monitoring via installed CMS platforms, with particular focus on translating alarm reporting to field recommendations and action.
  • Operations & Maintenance Oversight
    • Review plant performance data and hold O&M/service providers accountable to contractual KPIs and availability targets.
    • Monitor and analyze key operational metrics, identify underperformance trends, and coordinate corrective actions with Operations to minimize losses and downtime.
    • Support optimization of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activity tracking to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations and minimize operational expenditure.
    • Support tracking of warranty and insurance claims tied to equipment events, in partnership with Operations and Engineering.
  • Build, hire, and lead the Performance Engineering team as the function scales.
  • Establish team processes, standards, and reporting templates for repeatable, scalable execution.
  • M&A Operational Support
    • Support the build out and refinement of O&M cost models for acquisition targets, optimizing the internal evaluation and execution process.
    • Process and analyze seller-provided data; develop generation and availability estimates for diligence, and support the development of asset optimization strategies.
    • Partner with the Sr. Director to continuously improve modeling methodology.
  • Business Optimization & Analytics
    • Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for operational cost reductions, efficiency improvements, and performance optimization across the portfolio.
    • Leverage Bazefield and BI tools to maintain dashboards, generate statistical performance analyses, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
    • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of team processes, procedures, and reporting templates.
    • Lead the development of advanced analytics capabilities to proactively identify issues and optimize resolution of operational problems.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in renewable energy performance engineering, SCADA/data analytics, or asset management, preferably with some people‑management experience.
  • Experience with SCADA/historian platforms (Bazefield or similar) and utility‑scale wind, solar, or BESS operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong data/analytics skillset (SQL, Excel, BI tools; Python a plus).
  • Experience building or scaling reporting infrastructure and managing data pipelines from multiple sources/vendors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clearly to diverse audiences from plant technicians to leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and results‑driven with strong ownership mentality.
  • Self‑starter comfortable building a function with limited existing infrastructure.
  • Exposure to machine learning, digital twin, or predictive analytics applications in an industrial/energy context is a plus.
  • Ability to travel.
  • May require extended hours.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

  • Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
  • Position is based in either Houston, TX or Newtown, PA.
  • Position requires some travel to other SkyVest and ArcLight offices, as well as to generation assets.
