Job summary

Brownsville Independent School District's Fine Arts Department invites applications for the Assistant Band Director - Percussion position for the 2026-2027 school year. The role will teach ensemble classes, conduct a Concert Band, and support the Head Band Director with events and activities.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree and a Texas teaching certificate or be enrolled in an alternative certification program, with knowledge of UIL policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Texas Teacher’s Certificate or enrollment in Alternative Certification Program or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Teach ensemble classes and conduct a Concert Band.
• Assist Head Band Director with extra-curricular events (concerts, football games, pep rallies, parades, TMEA/UIL activities).
• Assist with paperwork and instructional duties as assigned.
• Provide best music education possible for BISD students.
