Job summary

Zone 5 Technologies in the United States is seeking a Perception Simulation Engineer to build the sensor-simulation and synthetic-data backbone of our Unreal Engine-based sim for unmanned aircraft systems. You will model high-fidelity RGB and IR cameras, publish ROS 2 data, and generate ground-truth labels for evaluating perception and Target State Estimation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering relevant to robotics or graphics.
• 3–6+ years of Unreal Engine with C++ development, including plugins/modules.
• Working knowledge of ROS 2 and integrating it with a simulation environment.
• Solid grounding in 3D graphics, real-time rendering, and camera/sensor models.

Responsibilities

• Build high-fidelity sensor models (RGB and IR) in Unreal Engine and render from platform-mounted cameras.
• Publish simulated data to ROS 2 topics and integrate with SITL/ground-truth pipelines.
• Develop synthetic data generation and target- injection for training and evaluating perception models.
