Shield AI in Orlando is seeking an experienced engineer to help build perception software for autonomous aircraft and vehicles. You will work on modern C++ production code and own features from design through delivery. Required depth in detection, tracking, computer vision, estimation, or sensor fusion, plus Python for experiments.

Hybrid schedule: three days per week in the office with teams across the US. Salary ranges from $165,000 to $300,000 per year, with bonus, benefits, and equity.

Qualifications

• Production C++ software for perception, robotics, autonomy or related field.
• Strong depth in detection, tracking, computer vision, estimation or sensor fusion.
• Ability to debug complex systems and maintainable code.
• Proficiency with Python for experiments and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop perception algorithms and production software in modern C++.
• Own features from design and implementation through integration, testing and delivery.
• Investigate system behavior using sensor data, simulation, logs, and experiments.
• Collaborate across teams to turn research and customer-driven work into reusable product capabilities.
• Contribute to technical direction, review designs and code, and mentor other engineers.
