Job summary

VillageMD seeks a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to provide comprehensive ultrasound services across multiple sites. You will perform exams, document patient histories, and ensure image quality for radiologist interpretation.

The role requires ARDMS in OB/GYN or AB, a sonography program credential, and strong English communication. Travel to satellite locations may be required; per diem schedule varies.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification in OB/GYN or AB.
• Graduated from an accredited Sonography program.
• English communication skills required.
• Proficient with EMR, RIS and PACS systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive ultrasound care following dept. policy and standards.
• Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
• Documents patient history and relevant information.
• Communicates with Radiologist and verifies orders.
• Maintains infection control and room cleanliness.
• Travels to satellite locations as needed.

Job Description Status

Essential Job functions

• Provides comprehensive care to patients requiring ultrasound services in an organized and systematic manner according to departmental policy and standards.
• Follows appropriate protocol for ultrasound studies unless specified differently by the Radiologist.
• Follows ultrasound protocols for biopsies and other Interventional procedures if required.
• Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
• Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
• Obtains and documents, patient history and pertinent information.
• Communicates with attending Radiologist and verifies providers orders.
• Ensures exam room cleanliness after each procedure.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.
• Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.
• Prepares patient for procedures providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
• Ability to operate / modify equipment and technical factors as needed.
• Ensures equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks.
• Follows department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.

General Job functions

• Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of safety, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations.
• Other job duties as required.
• Attends departmental meetings.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience required; outpatient and/or hospital setting preferred.
• ARDMS certification in OB/GYN or AB is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Graduated from an accredited Sonography program.
• The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
• Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS and PACS Systems.

Travel

Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed

Per diem Technologists requirements

• Per diem Technologists will typically be needed for 4 shifts within a 6-week scheduling grid.
• 2 or more of those shifts will occur during the weekend.
• Must work at least one Holiday per year.
• Locations are subject to change.
• Location preference will be taken into consideration; however, technologists will be scheduled according to staffing needs.
• Once shifts are accepted and assigned, it becomes the responsibility of technologist to get coverage, if adequate notice is not given.
• All shift trades or drop requests are subject to manager approval.

Pay Range

$42.12 - $52.69 Hourly The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
