Job summary

IHA is seeking a Surgical Technician (uncertified or unlicensed) to join our peri-operative team in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. This part-time role supports surgical procedures, prepares equipment, and assists the nursing and surgical staff to ensure safe patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, at least one year in a health care setting, and state engagement requirements; certification as a Surgical Technician is preferred.

  • Meets requirements for applicable state(s) of engagement.
  • Current certification as Surgical Technician (preferred).

Functional Role (not inclusive of titles or advancement career progression) Tech / Support II – assistive: Unlicensed or uncertified role (direct healthcare) that supports the total peri-operative process; Provides intra-operative patient care to patients as directed by the Director of Nursing / Medical Director / Quality Committee(s); Anticipates surgeon’s needs in the use of medical supplies, instrumentation & equipment availability & readiness; Maintains a safe & clean operating room suite; Assists & / or ensures documentation & detailed records are kept; Performs essential duties & techniques appropriate to role / function / procedure; Participates in quality improvement processes; May serve as a resource (lead), role model & / or mentor.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED; At least one (1) year experience in a health care or military medical setting; Meets requirements for applicable state(s) of engagement.

Current certification as a Surgical Technician from an accredited program
