Job summary

Dedham Public Schools is seeking daily substitute teachers to cover all grade levels district-wide in Dedham, Massachusetts. Immediate starting date with per diem pay and an emphasis on maintaining classroom continuity when teachers are absent.

Qualifications

• Must have attended at least two years of college.
• MA DESE licensure preferred.
• Experience working with children and/or adolescents in active settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructional guide outlined in teachers' lesson plans
• Follow class expectations outlined in teachers' lesson plans
• Create and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom
• Maintain daily attendance and report paperwork to building secretary at the end of the day
• Keep a daily log about the progress of the day and leave it for the regular teacher
• Clean teaching area at the end of the day - put all equipment and materials away
• Perform any other tasks that are assigned to the absent teacher on that day (bus duty, study hall, etc.)
• Applications for substitutes will be accepted throughout the school year.
