Job summary

University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic exams in mammography, CT, and related procedures using specialized equipment.

Candidates must hold an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology Program, Nevada licensure, ARRT registration, CT/Angiography certification, and BLS. The hospital is Magnet-recognized and operates a level I trauma center.

Qualifications

  • AMA-approved Radiologic Technology Program completion is required.
  • Nevada radiology license active in good standing.
  • ARRT registration in Radiography with CT/Angiography certification preferred.
  • BLS certification recognized by AHA.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic examinations in mammography, CT, and related procedures.
  • Operates radiology equipment and software for imaging and documentation.
  • Adheres to safety, QA, and infection control protocols.
  • Communicates with patients and coordinating staff to ensure accuracy and care.

University Medical Center of Southern Nevada

Position Summary

As an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life‑saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada’s highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients. UMC is home to Nevada's sole Nonprofit Level I Trauma Center, Verified Burn Center, and Multi‑Organ Transplant Center. In 2026, we became the first and only Magnet‑Recognized hospital in the state. This position may close without notice once a sufficient number of qualified applications is received.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic exams on patients in the specialized areas of mammography, computed tomography, and special procedures, using specialized equipment, techniques, and/or computer programs.

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an AMA‑approved Radiologic Technology Program.
  • State of Nevada License in Radiology.
  • Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) registration in Radiography, and certification in a specialty area such as Computed Tomography or Angiography.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association.
  • Preferences: valid State of Nevada License in Radiology; ARRT registration in Computed Tomography; three years experience performing CT exams in a trauma setting; CT interventional exams on patients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of procedures and protocols associated with the area of assignment, specialized equipment, radiography protocols and procedures, quality assurance and control, personal computers, anatomy and physiology, contrast application, venipuncture techniques, department and hospital safety practices, patient rights, age‑specific patient care, infection control, hazardous material handling, and emergency response policies.
  • Skill in utilizing computers and specialized software for scanning and diagnostic evaluation; utilizing specialized equipment; applying aseptic techniques; positioning patients; communicating effectively with diverse populations; establishing working relationships with all personnel; efficient and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements

Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting, stamina to stand or walk for extended periods, vision to read printed material and VDT screens, hearing and speech for effective communication, strength to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
