Job summary

Chelsea Place Care Center in Hartford, CT, is seeking a per diem Security Specialist to implement and maintain the facility's security program, ensuring resident and employee safety in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The role involves inspecting entry areas, monitoring the security system, logging visitors, and coordinating with other departments.

Strong English skills and prior security training are required; prior experience with elderly or disabled individuals is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of security experience.
• Training in security procedures.
• Able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.

Responsibilities

• Inspect bags/boxes and unusual items for visitors and residents at entry.
• Maintain sign in/sign out log for visitors and residents.
• Ensure residents without privileges do not leave the facility.
• Monitor and ensure security system is engaged and operating correctly.
• Notify maintenance for security equipment issues and follow up.
• Stay visible to maintain a strong security presence.
• Coordinate security with other departments as needed.
• Provide customer-friendly greetings and directions.
