Job summary

City of Everett seeks a Registered Nurse to support school health services at Everett City Hall. Under supervision, you will review student health records, perform screenings, immunizations, and coordinate age-appropriate exams for 4th and 8th grades.

You will also administer medications and provide emergency first aid during school hours. Responsibilities include monitoring communicable diseases, maintaining records, and reporting data to the Board of Health.

Qualifications

Current RN license with the MA Board of Registration.
Knowledge of nursing and public health functions equal to completion of three years of college.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Current certification in CPR and First Aid from a recognized provider.
Basic computer skills.
MA Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Maintain and review health records of all students in public schools within the City of Everett.
Perform health screening including immunizations, weigh and measure annually; conduct hearing and vision tests as required; conduct annual postural screening on all students.
Coordinate physical exams of students entering fourth and eighth grades; mail proper forms, schedule appointments for requests of exams at the Board of Health and participate in those exams.
Administer medications for students during school hours.
Administer emergency first aid as necessary; monitor all communicable diseases and record on student’s health records; provide data on communicable diseases to Board of Health.
Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
