NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in wound and ostomy care for a Per Diem Day shift in Flushing, NY. You will provide pre- and post-operative education, deliver wound and ostomy care, and work with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.

The role requires at least 3 years of acute care experience, a NYS RN license, and WOCN/Ostomy certifications. A collaborative, patient-centered environment with strong outcomes focus awaits.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• WOCN and Ostomy certifications are preferred.
• Current NYS RN license is required.
• BCLS certification is required.
• At least 3 years of acute care nursing with focus on skin, wound, ostomy and incontinence management.

Responsabilidades

• Provide pre- and post-operative wound and ostomy care education to patients and families.
• Deliver care independently with interdisciplinary team involvement and decision making.
• Regularly evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Participate in quality initiatives to reduce readmissions and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure continuity of care.

Take on this impactful role. Use your expertise in wound and ostomy care as you deliver pre- and post-operative treatment and education to patients and their families. Regularly evaluate patient outcomes, and participate in initiatives focused on improving quality and performance, such as minimizing re-admissions of our patients.

This is a Per Diem Day shift (7a-5p) position. At least one shift per pay period (biweekly) is required.

Preferred Criteria

• Applicable experience in an academic medical center (includes experience partnering with interns/residents/attending)


• Masters preferred


• WOCN Certification

Required Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing


• At least 3 years of acute care nursing experience focusing on skin integrity, wound, ostomy and incontinence management


• Wound Care Certification


• Ostomy Certification


• BCLS certification


• Current New York State Registered Nurse license


• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills to drive engagement


• An independent thinker who can quickly resolve patient care issues utilizing the skills and knowledge of the interdisciplinary team
