Job summary

The Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to advocate for patients and apply the nursing process under supervision. This role focuses on age-specific patient care and collaboration with the health team.

You will participate in planning, documentation, and quality improvement, with shifts during Day, Mon-Fri and rotating Saturdays. Rhode Island RN license required, CPR certification, and hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or compact licensure.
• Graduate of a school of nursing; Baccalaureate preferred; current license to practice in Rhode Island.
• Certification in CPR upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and reports deviations from patient or established norms.
• Documents nursing interventions and patient responses to treatment.
• Provides basic comfort and support according to patient needs.
• Fosters patient and family participation in plan of care.
• Sets priorities in patient assignments and seeks guidance when needed.
• Identifies emergency situations and initiates appropriate intervention.
• Plans for potential needs during emergencies and defines outcomes.
• Documents on nursing assessment forms and evaluates care based on outcomes.
• Maintains knowledge of Rhode Island Nurse Practice Act and professional standards.
• Participates in quality improvement and unit meetings.
