Job summary

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is seeking enthusiastic Registered Nurses (RN) to work per-diem on the day shift in the Medical Department at the Livingston County Jail in Geneseo, NY.

The RN will monitor and evaluate nursing care and report to the Medical Director or a mid-level practitioner. This PRN Day position offers a 2 week orientation, with on-the-job training and shadowing with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York.
• Clinical decision-making ability is required and critical.
• Effective communication skills are essential for patient interactions.
• Ability to function independently and demonstrate clinical competency.
• Previous education and experience may be substituted in many cases.
• Experience in health care delivery system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established standards.
• Assess and provide comprehensive treatment care while observing security requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps as required.
• Provide health counseling to inmates/patients and conduct sick calls.
• Observe and document symptoms, reactions, and progress; help form nursing care plans.
• Take vital signs and complete assessments at least once per shift.
