Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners' Sunnyview Rehab Hospital is seeking a Per diem RN for the Brain Injury unit. Availability during weekdays and weekends is required, with a rotating shift across days and nights. Orientation at Sunnyview is mandatory to onboard quickly.

The role involves caring for patients with TBI, coma recovery, and stroke, with training in PALS, Trachs, IVs, and wound care. Per diem rates apply with competitive pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• New York State RN license required.
• Associates Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function.
• Assist patients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
• Design and implement treatment strategies that are based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and that promote physical, psychosocial and spiritual health.
• Will be trained to perform complex patient assessments and implement intensive interventions (IV meds, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, ventilators, telemetry, chest tubes, tracheostomy care and weaning, tube feedings, etc).
