NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem to deliver respiratory care across all age groups, following established medical standards and written/verbal orders.

The role includes supervising the blood gas laboratory in the absence of a supervisor, managing ventilation modalities, and collaborating with the care team. Requires an AMA-approved RT program degree, NYS RT license, NBRC, and CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Current NYS Respiratory Therapy License and NBRC registration.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with clinical documentation.

Responsabilités

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Provides respiratory services to patients of all ages, including medication administration and oxygen therapy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical ventilation and noninvasive ventilation; performs intubation/extubation as needed.
• Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and communicates findings.
• Documents interventions in the electronic medical record with accuracy.
• Performs blood gas analysis and maintenance; troubleshoots instrumentation.
• Provides lab oversight in the absence of supervision.
