Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide care designed to stabilize and treat patient respiratory problems under physician orders. The role involves operating oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment and documenting therapy and diagnostic data.

You will work with ABG analysis, participate in ventilator weaning and MDI protocols, and collaborate with physicians, nurses and the care team to support relationship-based care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current NBRC credential (Certified or Registered) and NJ license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS through the American Heart Association per 2019 policy.
• Ability to explain clinical, technical and diagnostic procedures to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Stabilize, prevent or treat respiratory problems under physician orders.
• Operate oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment to deliver prescribed therapies.
• Regularly check equipment and record therapy data in patient charts.
• Draw, analyze, and report ABGs to physicians and nurses.
• Participate in adult ventilator weaning and MDI protocols.
