About This Role

The Per Diem Registered Nurse in the Cancer Center at NYU Langone Health is responsible for delivering patient care with a focus on the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are committed to providing safe and compassionate care.

What You'll Do

• Carry out patient care responsibilities emphasizing decision-making in the nursing process.
• Provide competent, safe, and compassionate care based on established standards.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to formulate and implement a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care.
• Collect, assess, and document patient healthcare data.
• Involve patient/family and interdisciplinary team to identify a realistic and measurable plan of care.
• Prioritize care based on collected data.
• Document assessment and reassessment in medical records.
• Implement interventions in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner.
• Educate the patient/family regarding health status and established plan of care.
• Evaluate the patient's progress towards expected outcomes.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution required

Experience:

• Experience in a nursing role preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
