PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center – RiverBend in Springfield, OR is hiring a Per Diem Radiology Technologist at a Level 2 Trauma Center. This role offers flexible scheduling, competitive hourly pay, and the chance to work across inpatient, outpatient, and ED imaging.

You will perform X-ray exams, assist with surgical imaging, and maintain strict radiation safety practices in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; students or recent grads may be considered.
• 1 year of experience preferred
• Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems required
• ARRT (R) required (or ARRT-eligible with certification within 6 months) and Oregon Radiologic Technologist license; OBMI temporary license accepted at hire; BLS required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray exams for inpatients, outpatients, trauma, and ED patients.
• Complete portable exams in patient rooms and clinical areas
• Assist with surgical imaging when needed
• Position patients accurately for clear imaging results
• Select the correct imaging settings for each exam
• Follow radiation safety and infection prevention practices
• Check for pregnancy when required before exams
• Review patient history and prior images to guide the exam
• Explain procedures to patients in simple, reassuring terms
• Adapt quickly when patient needs or conditions change
• Support physicians and clinical teams with timely imaging
• Help train students or staff when assigned

Per Diem Availability Expectations

To maintain per diem status, technologists must be available to:

• Work at least 3 shifts per month
• Cover 1 holiday per year
• Pick up 2 call shifts per month

Pay & Differentials

• Base hourly pay: $41.67 – $58.31
  • Actual rate depends on experience, education, and collective bargaining agreement
• 15% differential in lieu of benefits
• Shift differentials
  • Evening: +$2.50/hr
  • Night: +$5.00/hr
  • Weekend: +$1.00/hr
• More opportunities to earn by picking up hard‑to‑fill shifts
