Job summary

CentraState Healthcare System, based in Freehold, New Jersey, seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Radiology Department. You will administer nursing care to patients in line with ANA standards and hospital policies, with 24-hour on-call weekend coverage rotating from Friday 5:00 p.m. to Sunday.

The role requires two years of nursing experience with critical care exposure, NJ RN license, and current CPR and ACLS certifications. Telemetry preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved program for Registered Nurses.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience including critical care experience.
• Current NJ RN License required.
• CPR Certification required.
• ACLS Certification required.
• IV Therapy Certification required.
• Telemetry Certification preferred.
• Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Implements nursing care as indicated by patient care plan.
• Provides nursing care for angiographic and other special procedures.
• Includes patient and family in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Administers medications as needed following CSHS policies and manufacturer's instructions.
• Takes immediate actions in event of medication variance.
• Maintains and upgrades own nursing practice and development.
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and emergencies and acts accordingly.
• Participates in unit conferences to discuss quality issues and improvements.
• Demonstrates sound nursing judgment in care management situations.
• Shows critical thinking in coordinating care for maximum outcomes.
• Starts and monitors IVs and solutions per policy.
• Acts as liaison between Nursing and Radiology.
• Controls all medications in the Radiology Department.
• Documents assessment, diagnosis, care plan, and progress in medical records.
• Recognizes adverse reactions and responds promptly.
• Assesses patient condition while in Radiology.
• Floats between units and provides 1:1 observation when needed.
