Job summary

PM Pediatric Care in Nanuet, NY is seeking a Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) to join our pediatric urgent care team. You will perform radiographic exams, ensure patient safety, and support providers in delivering high-quality care to children.

The role requires graduation from a Radiologic Technologist program, knowledge of digital imaging, and proficiency with electronic health records (eCW preferred); you will work under physician supervision and participate in daily QC and safety

Qualifications

• Graduated from Radiologic Technologist program.
• Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic’s processes, and procedures
• Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally
• Knowledge of digital imaging
• Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety
• Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
• Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shift
• Document repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter read
• Assist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipment
• Immediately report any equipment malfunctions to management team
• Helps patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergencies
• Perform collection of throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing
• Assist in processing of laboratory testing of patient samples and routine QA testing
• Apply splints, ace wraps and DME devices on patients
• Provide patient with crutches and proper use education
• Be an integral part of the patient care team
• Keep exam and x-ray room stocked with adequate supplies
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Assisting patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed

Summary

The Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. The Radiologic Technologist role is an opportunity for an x-ray tech to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician’s direct supervision. Compensation

$31 - $41/hour

The salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role. Please note that actual salaries/rates may vary within this range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and based on experience and qualifications.
