Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Radiation Therapist to deliver prescribed radiation therapy under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist or lead therapist. Per diem, Monday through Friday schedule with experience in Varian/TrueBeam and Aria software is preferred.

The position requires graduation from an approved Radiation Therapy program, ARRT registration, NH licensure, and BLS certification. One year of experience is preferred; new graduates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology required. AS or BS preferred.
• Experience: One (1) year of experience preferred; new graduates considered.
• Certification, Registration, and Licensure: ARRT registration and NH state licensure; BLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Administers radiation therapy treatment within the scope of practice and departmental standards.
• Performs daily QA and safety procedures on the equipment and reports variances.
• Positions, immobilizes, and aligns patients according to the treatment plan.
• Multitasks in complex situations and works with the team to solve problems.
• Monitors patient response and refers for appropriate management as needed.
• Documents all treatment delivery in the EMR.
• Educates patients on procedures and expectations.
• Acquires and evaluates treatment images and adjusts per imaging guidelines.
• Contributes to simulation and planning of treatment.
• Follows policy and procedures for occurrence reporting.
• Takes call on a rotating basis.
• Engages in departmental meetings and continuing education.
• Adheres to hospital policies and maintains attendance.
