Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required.
• Experience: Acute Therapy: None required. One to two years of experience preferred; exceptional new graduates considered.
• Licensure/Certification: Certification as a PT Assistant required. BLS Certification required.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of PT programs, ability to demonstrate or lead therapy, and follow directions with reporting of issues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed physical therapy treatments under supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Administer therapy programs and monitor patient progress.
• Assist therapist during testing, evaluations and complex procedures.
• Document patient care efficiently in the electronic medical record.
• Provide patient and family education for continued therapy at home.
• Coordinate with other service areas to ensure proper patient care.
