You will support licensed therapists by delivering treatments and assisting with patient education. The ideal candidate has a two-year PTA program, Ohio LPTA licensure, CEUs, and CPR certification, with ability to document patient responses and collaborate with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited two-year PTA program.
• Licensed by the Ohio State Physical Therapy Board as a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA).
• Maintains continuing education units (CEUs) and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Administers active and passive manual therapy, heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and other treatments as directed by the licensed physical therapist.
• Assists patients with transfers, ambulation, and activities of daily living.
• Observes and records patient responses to treatments and reports findings to the physical therapist.
• Fits and trains patients in use of orthoses, prostheses, and assistive devices.
• Confers with the physical therapy team to coordinate and modify treatment plans.
• Directs and supervises aides in treatments as appropriate.
• Assists in measuring range of motion, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs to monitor progress.
• Contributes to patient evaluations and progression of therapy programs.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Population-specific competencies include pain assessment, pediatric/geriatric considerations, and safety.
