Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a dedicated Physical Therapy Aide in New Jersey to support therapists, patients, and the care team. You will assist with patient transfers, prepare treatment areas, and help maintain a clean, efficient rehab environment.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, clerical support, and clear communication with patients and staff to ensure safety and quality care. High school diploma or GED and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining strict compliance with general housekeeping protocols and infection prevention standards across the department.
• Preparing and maintaining the treatment area, ensuring all tables, mats, and equipment are clean and ready for use.
• Retrieving and setting up specialized equipment, including hot packs, cold packs, and electrical stimulation devices.
• Assisting physical therapists directly with patient care, including helping patients transfer safely onto and off of treatment tables and exercise equipment.
• Managing clerical needs of the department by answering phones, taking accurate messages, and supporting front-desk workflows.
• Communicating effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team to ensure a welcoming environment.
• Managing supply inventory in treatment areas and reporting any equipment maintenance needs to leadership.
