Department: SSH Inpatient Phlebotomy

Position Details

Status: Part-time

Shift: Varied Shifts (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

1. Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick) according to established procedures.
2. Identify patients and properly label specimen tubes.
3. Determine priority of STAT draws and ensure timely transport.
4. Utilize computers for order entry, list generation, and workload management.
5. Assist co-workers and communicate effectively to ensure workflow.
6. Train new employees and interns under supervision.
7. Follow organizational policies and procedures.
8. Accept and perform work of varying responsibilities as needed.
9. Act as receptionist when required, greeting patients and answering phones.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
11. Record refrigerator temperatures and notify supervisors of issues.
12. Adopt technological solutions to improve work processes.
13. Adhere to safety protocols and foster a culture of safety.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Equivalent of four years of high school (preferred)

Experience: One year of full-time experience (preferred)

Certifications: Certified or eligible with the National Phlebotomy Association (preferred)

Additional Details

Per diem, flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, and some weekends and holidays.
