Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Pharmacy Technician- Per Diem to support a 24-hour hospital distribution system in White Plains, NY. Under supervision of the staff pharmacist, you will fill routine orders for unit of use and prepacked pharmaceuticals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.

This role requires a CPhT with PTCB or NHA certification, hospital pharmacy experience, and solid computer skills to manage orders, labeling, and documentation for patient care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with ability to read/write English.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
• Prior hospital pharmacy or health-care experience.
• Strong computer and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental control standards and infection control standards.
• Counts, packages and labels unit of use medication for inspection by a registered pharmacist and fills routine orders for medications.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (neonate, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
• Assists the registered pharmacists as directed including filling orders and preparing labels.
• May assist with the preparation of Intravenous preparations and delivers such.

Position

Pharmacy Technician- Per Diem Located at NYP The One- 1111 Westchester Ave, White Plains, NY Under the supervision of the department management/staff pharmacist, fills routine orders for unit of use and prepacked pharmaceuticals for the departments twenty-four (24) hour unit dose distribution system. Performs other related duties.

• Assists the hospital and department in meeting and exceeding their commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Required Criteria

• High school graduate or equivalent with the ability to read and write English.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
• Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy or health care environment (nursing home care).
• Computer/PC experience.
• Excellent human relations and oral communication skills.

Salary Range

$38.11/Hourly
