Job summary

Guthrie Vestal Shippers Road Pharmacy in Vestal, NY is seeking a per diem Pharmacy Technician to join our retail pharmacy team with on-the-job training.

You will assist pharmacists with dispensing, process prescriptions, answer patient questions by phone, email or in person, support inventory and regulatory tasks, and help with occasional local deliveries as needed. This role offers flexible shifts and a competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• PTCB certification desirable but not required.
• Experience in outpatient/retail pharmacy is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing prescriptions under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Processes prescriptions via computer system and reviews third-party payer adjudication.
• Receives requests from patients via phone, email, fax, in-person and other means.
• Assists in inventory management including stock replenishment and removing expired/recalled medications.
• Handles questions pertaining to the operations of the pharmacy that do not require pharmacist expertise.
• Communicates to the pharmacists any information necessary for the operation of the Clinic Pharmacy.
• Delivers prescriptions as needed to off-site locations in adjacent clinics or hospitals; local deliveries may be required.
• Performs duties assigned to Pharmacy Cashiers and assists in regulatory compliance per department policies.
