Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Hastings, MN is hiring a Patient Access/Registration Associate to greet patients, collect demographic and insurance data, and enter information into the electronic medical record. This per diem role supports Allina Health account in a strategic partnership with Optum.

The position offers a $750 sign-on bonus for external applicants, structured shifts across 1st/2nd/3rd, and a path to develop in a mission-driven environment delivering coordinated care and improved health

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a Per Diem basis, within 1st shift, 2nd shift, or 3rd shift.
• Ability to work minimum of 1 shift every two weeks and standard daytime hours, Monday-Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patient in person.
• Collects demographic and insurance information.
• Checks in or interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork.
• Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.
• May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results.
• Obtains signatures from patients as needed.
• Collects co-pay or deductibles and responds to questions regarding financial assistance programs available.
• Uses resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues.
• Assist patients in completion of request for information forms.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Greets and welcomes patient in person
• Collects demographic and insurance information
• Checks in or interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork
• Directs patient to their appointment or procedure
• May assist in scheduling add-on appointments
• Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results
• Obtains signatures from patients as needed
• Collects co-pay or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial assistance programs available. Refers complex questions as needed
• Uses resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues
• Assist patients in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department
• May gather medical record information from all departments for collection

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work on a Per Diem basis, within 1 st shift, 2 nd shift, or 3 rd shift
• Ability to work minimum of 1 shift every two weeksAbility to work standard daytime hours, Monday-Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications:

• Revenue cycle experience
• General office experience
• Flexibility to occasionally work other shifts as business requires

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
