Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced oncology nurse for per diem, varied shifts, and collaborative cancer care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role emphasizes coordination of pre-treatment steps, patient education, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Required: RN license in Massachusetts and five years of oncology nursing; BSN required, MSN preferred. Certifications in chemo/bio administration and OCN are a plus.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Massachusetts.
• Five years of oncology nursing experience.
• Proven ability to coordinate care and educate patients.
• Experience in program development and community resources.
• Ability to lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates care for patients starting treatment, including labs, imaging, referrals, and venous access.
• Collaborates with oncologists, nutritionists, social workers, and other teams to provide comprehensive cancer care.
• Acts as liaison between inpatient and outpatient oncology patients for timely discharge and follow-up.
• Develops survivorship and supportive care plans per Commission on Cancer guidelines.
• Participates in palliative care and multidisciplinary team meetings; identifies patients needing interventions.
• Ensures documentation in electronic health records and coordinates with authorization and billing teams.
