Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care and manage workers’ compensation claims within its Occupational Health program. The role supports Modified Duty/Return to Work initiatives and collaborates with HR, Risk Management, and insurers.

The nurse will deliver health services on-site and virtually, ensure privacy, and develop procedures aligned with OSHA/NIOSH guidance while maintaining timely communication with site contacts and physicians.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Preferred: Certification in Occupational Health Nursing.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systematic assessment and nursing diagnosis of work-related injuries/illnesses.
  • Coordinate health surveillance and care for lost/restricted time due to workplace injuries.
  • Monitor treatment recommendations and coordinate accommodations with HR and insurers.
  • Advise on light duty placement, ergonomics, or job modification with management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee health information and HIPAA compliance.
  • Deliver on-site and virtual health services, including injury prevention education.
  • Develop procedures for work-related medical issues and OSHA/NIOSH considerations.
  • Track and analyze incident data and KPI trends with EHS&S.

Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care, processing workers’ compensation claims management, facilitating the Modified Duty/and Return to Work program and assisting with other occupational and environmental health services as needed, while maintaining a professional and patient-centered approach.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide systematic assessment and nursing diagnosis of work-related injuries/illnesses.Coordinate and facilitate health surveillance, lost and restricted time care (related to a workplace injury) coordination and management.Monitor healthcare provider recommendations for appropriateness of accommodations, continuous treatment, and work regularly with CRL Occupational Health, Human Resources, Risk Management and Workers Compensation insurer.Advise managers/supervisors on light duty placement, ergonomics, or job modification.Track injured employee care and progress. Initiate and facilitate conferences regularly with physicians, therapists, and insurance adjusters about employee progress.Assist Human Resources and department management with planning for injured employees to return to work from leave.Work with management, employees, medical doctors, and insurance carriers in developing proper accommodation for returning employees.Provide health services in person and virtually, including health counseling and injury prevention education, first aid and medical treatment for minor injuries.Provide specific treatment for procedures specific to the sites hazards.Develop, implement, and maintain updated procedures and programs for employee work-related medical issues aligned with Corporate Occupational Health.Maintain and safeguard confidentiality of employee health information and Workers Compensation records, understanding HIPAA (or country equivalent) and other privacy.Responsible accurate and timely communication with designated site contact(s) if an employee requires care beyond first aid, limited duty restrictions or lost time which may be required to be recorded on the OSHA-300 Log.Partner with EHS&S to maintain records of incidents, injuries, first aid, near misses, Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and regularly stratify/analyze these data for severity and frequency, as needed.Monitor OSHA General Duty (or country equivalent) requirements and NIOSH research for worker health.Conduct communications, reviews and recommendations for workplace hazard detection, worker health and safety improvements in collaboration with plant management.Other duties as assigned or those duties that may be required as management deems necessary.Education and ExperienceCertification in Occupational Health Nursing, preferredFirst Aid, CPR and AED certifiedIf needed, NIOSH, CAOHC DOT Drug, and Alcohol testingGraduate of an accredited nursing program and nursing Licensure by the state ofpractice, in good standingProficient in basic office software applicationsExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Skills and CompetenciesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.Strong critical thinking skills, problem solving, and decision making.Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to create and edit written materials.Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals.Ability to work independently as well as assist other team members when needed.Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.Computer SkillsMust be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.Physical DemandsRequires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.Some bending and stretching could be required.Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.Work EnvironmentMainly indoor, office environment conditions.The noise level is usually moderate.Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.This position has an hourly pay range of $50 - $52 per hour.
