Job summary

City of Hope in Thousand Oaks is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Infusion Clinic on a per diem basis. You will administer chemotherapy, monitor patients, and educate families throughout treatment. This clinic runs 8:00am–5:30pm, Monday–Friday, with a minimum of one shift per week.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, vital signs monitoring, coordination of care, and managing side effects, all while delivering compassionate, evidence-based cancer care.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license.
• RN III with 3+ years of experience or RN I with less than 3 years.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health status and develop care plans.
• Administer chemotherapy and other medications per regimens.
• Monitor vital signs during infusion and respond to changes.
• Educate patients and families about treatment options and side effects.

Position Summary

City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Infusion Clinic in Thousand Oaks (425 Haaland Dr, Suite 101, Thousand Oaks, 91361). In this vital role, you will focus on the delivery of chemotherapy and comprehensive care to cancer patients, providing support, education, and a compassionate touch throughout their treatment journey.

This opportunity is for per diem, 8-hour shifts. There is a 1 shift per week minimum requirement for per diem.

This clinic is open Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Patient Assessment and Care Planning:Assess patients' health status, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based care protocols to ensure the best outcomes.
• Chemotherapy Administration:Administer chemotherapy and other medications to patients according to prescribed treatment regimens, ensuring safe and effective delivery.
• Vital Signs Monitoring:Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and symptoms during infusion treatments, promptly recognizing and responding to any changes or adverse reactions.
• Patient Education and Support:Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families, empowering them to understand their treatment options, side effects, and self-care measures.
• Coordination of Care:Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care, follow-up appointments, and supportive services, ensuring a seamless and holistic patient experience.
• Management of Side Effects:Assist patients in managing side effects and complications arising from cancer treatment, offering proactive support and interventions.

Your qualifications should include:

• Associate degree in nursing
• RN III - 3+ years of experience as a RN, per diem flat rate $69.40/hr
• If having less than 3 years of experience as a RN, will be considered as RN I, per diem flat rate $66.11/hr
• Current California Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS through American Heart Association
• A valid ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card
