Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in the United States is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and produce diagnostic images with a patient-centered approach.

This temporary/PRN position involves evenings, focuses on safety, quality imaging, and adhering to regulatory standards. The role supports the MRI department and requires ARRT/ARMRIT certification and CPR.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
  • ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently.
  • Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Screens patient before exam for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
  • Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures and positions them for optimal scanning.
  • Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision, ensuring patient comfort.
  • Adjusts MRI scan parameters as needed and follows physicians' orders precisely.
  • Maintains RIS records and keeps equipment clean and disinfected.
  • Maintains an orderly work area and ensures safety for patients and staff.
  • Maintains MRI equipment and complies with AC R toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Monitors supplies and assists in training new team members.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a Temporary/PRN position working Evenings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
  1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
  3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
  5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
  7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  8. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) MRI Department Support
  1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Required
  1. High School diploma, or equivalent
  2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  3. ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need
  4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  7. Certification in imaging specialty
Preferred
  1. Bilingual
