Job summary

Southeast Health is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to analyze specimens and report results per established protocols. The role requires adherence to QC measures, safety policies, and proper specimen handling within a hospital laboratory.

The position supports daily testing, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination with medical staff to ensure accurate, timely results for patient care. Per diem, day shift, 0.2 FTE context implied.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Chemistry qualifying the applicant to take the American Society for Clinical Pathology (or equivalent) certification examination.
• One (1) year clinical laboratory internship

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate testing of specimens according to established protocols.
• Report results promptly in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Maintain quality control and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Conduct instrument maintenance and calibration as required.
• Troubleshoot equipment, reagents, and specimens and escalate as needed.
• Follow universal precautions and safety procedures for handling specimens.
• Assist with safety-training programs and comply with department policies.
