Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Mammography Technologist in Dedham, MA. You will perform mammography exams under a radiologist and ensure MQSA and state regulations are followed, delivering high-quality images with the lowest reasonable dose.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient care, maintain licensure requirements through CEU documentation, and be flexible to cover multiple locations when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution
• Graduate of an accredited radiography program
• Massachusetts radiography license for 1+ years
• ARRT Mammography certification
• Knowledge of MQSA and ACR regulations (preferred)
• Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Confirms clinical data, obtains patient history, and uses the lowest dose for high-quality images
• Ensures patient safety and confidentiality at all times
• Communicates effectively with patients and health-care team
• Identifies equipment problems and informs Department Supervisor
• Maintains CEU documentation for licensure at each location
• Meets ARRT continuing education requirements
• Willing to cover at other locations when needed
• Willing to participate in training of new mammographers

Position Details:

• Location: 1 Lyons Street, Dedham, MA, 02026
• Department: Radiology - Mammography
• Schedule: Per Diem, As Needed (covering weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays)

As a Mammography Technologist, you will work under the guidance of a radiologist, perform mammography exams in accordance with MQSA, state regulations, and with health centers' established policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Confirms appropriate clinical data, obtains patient history, and uses the lowest possible dose to provide high quality images for the interpreting radiologist
• Provides for the emotional, physical well-being, and safety of the patient while maintaining strict standards of patient confidentiality
• Communicate effectively with patients as well as other members of the health care team
• Recognizes and effectively communicates equipment problems in a timely manner to the Department Supervisor
• For every location worked, provides on-going CEU documentation to support licensure requirement
• Continuing education and continuing experience requirements as defined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) must be maintained
• Willingness to cover in other location(s) when urgent need arises
• Willingness to participate in the training of new mammographers

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit
• Graduate of an accredited radiography program
• Must be licensed in Radiography for 1+ years
• Passed the ARRT exam in Mammography
• Must possess mammography license in the state of Massachusetts

Preferred Qualifications:

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
• Knowledge of Mammography equipment and MQSA and ACR regulations
• Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment
• General knowledge of healthcare delivery services
• Proven ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Safety
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
• Proven ability to complete Mammography exams in a timely manner even under stressful condition

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $40.05 - $60.05 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
