Greentree Manor in Waterford, CT is seeking a Per Diem Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and a safe, comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Join a dedicated team and perform routine and deep cleaning, coordinate with nursing staff to ensure resident care is not disrupted, and contribute to a well-presented facility.

A background in healthcare cleaning is preferred; must read and write English, and be reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent).
• Previous housekeeping or custodial experience in healthcare, residential care, or long‑term care is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for safety and communication with staff/residents.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, dining and lounge areas, offices, and other facility spaces on a regular schedule.
• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, polish surfaces, clean windows, walls, and furniture; remove trash and empty wastebaskets.
• Perform scheduled deep-cleaning tasks (carpet shampooing, floor stripping/buffing, disinfecting high-touch surfaces).
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment; report repairs or shortages; store cleaning chemicals safely per MSDS/OSHA guidelines.
• Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain safe, well-kept, and comfortable; attend to resident requests for housekeeping services promptly.
• Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff to coordinate cleaning tasks without disrupting resident care.

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking Per Diem Housekeepers to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and a safe, comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors at Greentree Manor. This person will be part of our dedicated team committed to upholding high standards for resident living and facility presentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, dining and lounge areas, offices, and other facility spaces on a regular schedule.

• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, polish surfaces, clean windows, walls, and furniture; remove trash and empty wastebaskets.

• Perform scheduled deep‑cleaning tasks (e.g. carpet shampooing, floor stripping/buffing, disinfecting high‑touch surfaces) as required.

• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment; report needed repairs or supply shortages; store cleaning chemicals properly and follow safety protocols (e.g. MSDS/OSHA, infection control).

• Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain safe, well‑kept, and comfortable; attend to resident requests for housekeeping services in a timely and respectful manner.

• Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff to coordinate cleaning tasks without disruption to resident care.

• Physical stamina: able to lift, bend, stoop, walk, stand for extended periods; capable of moving furniture/equipment; handle cleaning supplies and waste.

• Reliable, detail‑oriented, able to work independently or as part of a team; respectful of resident dignity, privacy, and comfort.
