Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Exeter, NH is seeking a Hand Hygiene Observer to support infection prevention efforts. This per diem role involves direct observation of hand hygiene across inpatient care units and data entry into our software to aid in quality improvement.

You will collaborate with the IPC leadership, monitor breaches, and participate in projects aimed at improving hand hygiene compliance. A high school diploma is required; college coursework is preferred, with strong attention to

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
No previous work experience in infection control required.
0-3 years of work experience preferred.
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and web-based applications (REDCap).
Detail oriented, effective communicator and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Perform hand hygiene direct observation across all inpatient care units and other settings as directed by IPC leadership (essential)
Enter hand hygiene observation data into hand hygiene software (essential)
Communicate with IPC leadership regarding urgent issues or repeated breaches in hand hygiene compliance in a timely manner (essential)
Assist IPC team in quality improvement activities related to hand hygiene, as needed. (essential)
