Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Florida is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian who thrives on helping people and their pets during urgent times. You will lead on the hospital floor, provide emergency medicine and surgeries, and contribute to a culture of mentorship and ongoing VEG Education programs to grow your career.

You’ll manage a full spectrum of emergencies, including exams, imaging, and treatment planning, while ensuring exceptional client communication and compassionate care for all animals,

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required with emergency medicine experience preferred.
• Ability to perform emergency surgeries and endoscopy as part of care.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented ER environment, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions and triage patients in a fast-paced ER.
• Handle emergencies, including surgeries and endoscopy, with a focus on exotics when needed.
• Gather signalment and presenting complaints, perform exams and diagnostic tests.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment options to clients, and prepare estimates.
• Maintain medical records and participate in continuous learning and mentorship.
