Job summary

Great Meadows Emergency Medical Service is seeking a Per-Diem EMT to serve on ambulances and assist with station duties as needed. This at-will, hourly position requires availability for 48 hours per month and readiness to respond to calls at any time.

The EMT will provide pre-hospital care under NJ regulations, operate GMEMS vehicles safely, and perform related duties such as restocking and station maintenance. Join a dedicated EMS team in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum six months EMT experience.
• Experience with EMS Charts.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work on time and ready to respond to calls.
• Checks ambulance and ensures readiness for emergency response.
• Safely responds to emergency calls for assistance.
• Ensures the safety of the scene prior to entering.
• Determines illness/injury and prioritizes care, renders EMS/trauma care.
• Packages and transfers patient to ambulance.
• Transports patient and crew to receiving facility.
• Provides verbal report to receiving facility staff.
• Records assessments and care in patient care reports.
• Cleans and restocks ambulance after each call.
• Performs routine station maintenance as scheduled.
