Job summary

University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) is seeking a per diem EKG Technician to support our Level I Trauma Center and specialty services in Las Vegas. You will monitor heart activity, identify rhythm variations, and assist with training while ensuring reliable operation of ECG equipment.

The role requires at least 1 year of EKG experience or completion of a basic rhythm course, with no licensing required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and completion of a basic EKG/rhythm course or one year of experience as an EKG Technician.
• A minimum of one year of recent documented experience as an EKG Technician.
• Licensing/Certification Requirements: None required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosis by monitoring heart patterns.
• Monitor and record cardiac activity data from multiple views of the heart.
• Identify rhythm variations and document findings.
• Train new technicians and provide guidance on procedures.
• Troubleshoot and maintain ECG equipment and software.
• Prepare billing adjustments when needed.
