Job summary

Advancing Opportunities is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual, developmental, and behavioral health challenges in residential and community settings, on a per diem basis in New Jersey.

You’ll provide person-centered support, help with daily living activities, and promote independence while working with residential and clinical teams. Per diem roles offer flexible scheduling and weekend pay options.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and documenting in English.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and person-centered assistance to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and behavioral health challenges.
  • Assist with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, grooming, meal planning, cooking, housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and transportation.
  • Help individuals develop skills for greater independence and better quality of life.
  • Provide supervision, encouragement, and guidance per service plans.
  • Maintain medication logs and complete required documentation accurately.
