Job summary

Memorial Hospital of Gardena is seeking a Diet Technician (Food and Nutrition Services) for Per Diem daytime shifts. You will support diet aides, process dietary orders, print reports, and help ensure accurate patient meal service in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include posting calories, communicating with dietitians, and performing tray-line checks. The role requires good attention to detail, strong teamwork, and adherence to HIPAA and safety standards; weekend

Qualifications

• Prefer 1–2 years of current acute care experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions; PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist diet aides in processing dietary orders with accuracy.
• Print diet reports and screen patients daily; update snack lists.
• Post calorie counts as ordered and communicate patient needs to dietitians.
• Conduct food & drug interaction education and postpartum nutrition education.
• May float to other areas of the hospital as needed.
