Description

The Milton and Carroll Petrie Department of Urology has long been a leader in clinical practice, education, and research. Faculty in our Department, which is housed within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, perform complex procedures using robotics, laparoscopy, and endoscopy, all as a part of our minimally invasive urologic surgery program. We remain equally committed to engaging in breakthrough research while training the next generation of leaders in the field.


The Per Diem Diagnostic Specialist performs radiologic procedures, assists in the coordinator of patient flow into and out of x-ray area, ensures supplies are available, responsible for daily maintenance of equipment and organization of x-ray films. Utilizes PACS system to process films, responsible for registering x-ray studies and patients in PACS and entering the system at completion of the study so billing can be performed


Responsibilities


  • Performs diagnostic radiologic services by operating imaging equipment, operating other equipment/devices as appropriate, positioning patients, immobilizing patients as necessary, calculating exposure factors, practicing radiation protection.

  • Maintains patients’ x-ray imaging and coping as requested.

  • Performs clerical duties related to administrative activities of clinical x-ray area.

  • Assumes full responsibility for assigned area.

  • Assumes responsibility for x-ray portion of quality assurance and complies with all federal and state regulations and maintains daily equipment maintenance records.

  • May assist in the scheduling of vacation time and appropriate coverage of area so clinical activity is not compromised.

  • Pursues on-going continuing education opportunities.

  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $60 - $60 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
