Job summary

MaineHealth Stephens Hospital in Norway, Maine is recruiting an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to work per diem. The team covers 3 operating rooms and an endoscopy suite with no on-call or weekend requirements.

CRNAs collaborate in a care team model and are medically directed by anesthesiologists. Ideal candidates hold an accredited nurse anesthesia program, Maine RN licensure, and CRNA certification, with prior CRNA experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
• Holds current active state licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Maine, and complies with state requirements for advanced practice registered nursing.
• Previous CRNA experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with patients, families, department units, medical and nursing staff on all essential matters.
• Demonstrated involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing, and/or certification.
• Ability to provide perioperative anesthesia care and patient population-specific care.
• Ability to operate anesthesia equipment and interpret data to support patient safety.
• Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this institution or state.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care in a per diem capacity across multiple operating rooms and endoscopy suite.
• Collaborate in a care team model under medical direction by a group of Anesthesiologists.
• Deliver safe anesthesia and perioperative care for diverse case types including general, orthopedics, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, ENT and endoscopy.
